The Sharks are Out

Lately I feel freedom of expression is only a myth

It is a fairy tale that looks good on paper.

People have gotten used to the lies so they question the truth,

to see the truth is to question sanity.

Black and White are one and the same, not gray, they’re equal side to side,

being here has made me realize humans share the same nature,

Black is black, white is white, and they need each other so they can be themselves.

Just like the devil was created by God so was Jesus, and if we were created to God’s image doesn’t that make us equal?

I’ve seen darkness and I’ve seen light

I’ve seen sheep and wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing

which one is truer than the other?

one just is

the other one pretends to be but only lies to itself.

I am caught in the middle with nowhere to go but within me

and question the truth about human nature.

The sharks are out and it is in their nature to want to bite from any direction,

see your brothers and sisters

really, what difference does it make

to make yourself feel so different from the other,

to say you belong to the white or to the black,

what do you think makes you so different from your enemies,

if when you act, you all act the same.

For My Girl

Little girl, little girl

you are my sunshine

the light of my eyes

how my heart sinks when I see you cry

those watery eyes boundless as the sky.

Little girl, little girl

you are the reason why I smile

silly laughter and funny faces,

loving you, my heart flies,

you’ve always been

and you’ll always be

the bravest of them all.

Rumble Bubble

Acrylic on Wood Panel

I have started a new period of exploration in my painting. This work is the result of my playful encounters with representation, abstract paint, and the reactions from the viewers.  The musicians in this painting are Randy Mishler from Float Forward and Tony Tubiola. Music has inspired Painting, and Painting will hopefully translate into something new. What will come next? The forms are always morphing, the paint is always flowing, the mood is always evolving.

Painting with heart and soul

Nueve  Vuelos (Nine Flights) are nine acrylic paintings which are the material expression of a process that was a reflection on my thoughts about life and love throughout a month of traveling. I am interested in the mental sensations created by color and the liberating healing power of abstract expression. Colors did flow together, created their own forms, and controlled forms were added as a process for self discovery and reflection on the ephemeral quality of life.

My work comes from my heart and soul, I hope the experience of seeing it will be a positive one for you.

Love is an expression of a person at peace and to get to that point I had to find myself first. Life is happening now. ¡Vuela alto… muy alto!
